Amman hosts commemorative events on 91st anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev

Azerbaijani Embassy in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has organized several events marking the 91st anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev in Amman.

An exhibition arranged at the Embassy featured photos reflecting the life and career of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
The event was attended by representatives of the Azerbaijan-Jordan Committee of Fraternity, Jordan-Azerbaijan Friendship Society, diplomatic corps accredited in the country, general public and mass media.
Addressing the event, ambassador Sabir Aghabayov gave a brief insight into the life and activities of the national leader.
Member of the Board of Directors of the Jordan-Azerbaijan Friendship Society Saleh Rusheydat praised the cooperation between the two countries. He said national leader Heydar Aliyev played an invaluable role in establishing and developing Jordan- Azerbaijan ties.
The exhibition was followed by a ceremony to open a square and a fountain named after national leader Heydar Aliyev at the Heydar Aliyev Avenue in Amman.
The event brought together some 250 people, including Mayor of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) Aqel Beltaji, and residents of the Badr district in the city.

Mayor Beltaji addressed the event to hail Jordan-Azerbaijan ties as “friendly and fraternal”.
Chairman of the Jordan-Azerbaijan Friendship Society, Senator Marvan al-Hmud spoke of national leader Heydar Aliyev’s role in the establishment of the bilateral ties between the two countries.
Ambassador Aghabayov noted the opening of the square and the fountain in Amman was a product of the cooperation between the Greater Amman Municipality and the Embassy.
