Experience of Jordan may be interesting to discuss at Baku Global Shared Societies Forum`

The Jordanian delegation will be largest at the 2nd Global shared societies forum to be held in Baku on April 27-29 in Baku - a sign of friendship and cooperation between the countries, said Azerbaijani ambassador to Jordan Sabir Aghabeyov in an interview to AzerTAc correspondent.
According to him, the event organized by Azerbaijan and the Club de Madrid will be attended by the Jordanian delegation led by former Prime Minister, President of the Jordanian Senate`s Council Abdelraouf al-Rawabdeh and former Prime Minister and President of the Senate, member of the International Nizami Ganjavi Center Tahir al-Masri. It is composed of the friends of Azerbaijan – state minister for women`s affairs Asma Khader, head of the parliamentary commission on foreign affairs and head of the newly formed parliamentary group for friendship with Azerbaijan Nazim Qashou, former deputy prime minister and current member of the Senate`s Council, chairman of the Jordan-Azerbaijan Friendship society Marwan al-Hmoud, senators Mahmoud Alsagur and others.
The delegation of Jordan, which became a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council and will take an active part in the forum, will discuss the issues of educational social security, women`s role in society and others.
They will also participate in the discussion on ensuring the international law on territorial integrity of countries. As known, Jordan has always supported Azerbaijan’s fair position on the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh dispute in line with international law. The leadership of Jordan always backs Azerbaijan within such international organizations as the United Nations, Organization of the Islamic Cooperation and others.
Of special importance is the resolution passed by Jordanian Senate June 19, 2013 on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide. It condemns the aggression, violation of human rights, violation against the Muslim Azerbaijani population and calling for the resolution of the conflict on the basis of the fundamental principles and norms of international law, territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and in line with UN Security Council resolutions.
Thanks to the high level of friendly and fraternal relations between the Heads of State President Ilham Aliyev and King Abdullah II, relationship between our countries have become strategic and stepped into qualitatively new stage. Such high-level meetings took place during the official visit of King Abdullah II to Azerbaijan in August 2006, May 2008 and May 2010 and during the official visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Jordan in July 2007 and October 2009.
Azerbaijan and Jordan support each other on vitally important issues related to sovereignty, security and development. In recent years, political and strategic trust is deepening and the nations back each other on international and regional issues. The deliberate and balanced policy pursued by the Heads of State enabled the countries to take a special place in the system of global and regional security. These factors continue to play an exceptional role in Azerbaijan-Jordan cooperation.
He noted that Speaker of the Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov will also receive the Jordanian delegation. The MPs of the two countries are scheduled to meet too. The agreement on cooperation will be signed between the chairperson of the state committee on the women`s and children`s affairs Hijran Huseynova and her counterpart Asma Khader.
