What do I know about Azerbaijan?

Dear Friends!

In light of declartion of 2017 as a year of “Islamic Solidarity” in Azerbaijan, by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, we are happy to announce an essay contest amongst the youth of members  of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (O.I.C.) countries. The subject of an essay is: What do I know about Azerbaijan?

The winners of the contest will have an unforgettable trip to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Attention: Taking into account the large number of eligible countries, the number of winners will be limited to 5 (five) from each country.

Conditions of the contest:

-          Age of partipicpant in the contest must be between 18-29

-          Essay must be written in English and should not exceed maximum of 2,500 words

-          Fornts of the essay must be in Arial, size 12

-          Deadline for submission is June 30, 2017

-          The form of submission : memory card (flash card)

-          The essay must be submitted to the Embassy of Republic of Azerbaijan

The folliwng must be submitted along with the essay:

- Application form (see page 2 of this document for sample)

- Resume

- Copy of passport

When selecting the winners the following will be taken into account:

-       Quality of research and analysis conducted as a base of essay

-       Accuracy of reaserach and data used for the essay

The applicants may select any subject of their interest that is relevant to their field of study, as long as they are part of eligible topics shown below. 

The suggested topics for the essay contest of “What do I know about Azerbaijan?”

-       Heydar Aliyev: national leader of Azerbaijan

-       Truth and realities of Garabagh conflict

-       Histtory, Civilization and Culture of Azerbaijan

-       The Population, Language and Traditions of Azerbaijan

-       Role of Azerbaijan in the international political arena

-       History of relationship between Azərbaycan and Jordan and its perspectives

-       Economic development of Azerbaijan

-       Azerbaijan’s oil and gas strategy

-       Azerbaijan in ancient scrips and sources

Note: As part of the trip, there is a plan to have presentations of national music, dances and cuisine for each country represented in the contest.
